My client is an international EPC contractor in the Oil and Gas industry. They have over 90 offices worldwide involved in multibillion dollar projects. Due to the award of a new project as well as ongoing projects, there is a requirement for Lead and Senior Structural Engineers with experience in offshore oil and gas design. This role will be based in Doha. Lead and Senior Structural Engineers (Offshore Design) Qatar Requirements Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, preferably with a Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia (MIEA) or equivalent Minimum 10 years structural engineering design experience in Oil and gas on offshore and onshore projects Sound understanding of offshore engineering practices applicable to topsides and oil and gas facilities, and thorough knowledge of the codes and standards Experience on Brownfield and asset service type project/contracts Must be fluent in both written and spoken English Responsibilities Organise and manage a team of structural engineers and designers Ensure structural design integrity of workscope and maintenance of standards is not compromised while managing the structural department. Forecast resource requirements for structural engineers and designers and allocate these resources Identify structural software necessary to enable structural group to function effectively Prepare structural discipline man-hour estimate to perform project tasks Manage structural engineering design and any design changes within budget and schedule Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and review where applicable in providing more cost effective facilities Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives Prepare weekly structural progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis On offer to the successful candidate will be an attractive remuneration package and long term employment with a leading global giant.
