ROLE AND DUTIES The Senior Surveyor has the primary responsibility for the operation, and maintenance of the online survey systems and the execution, monitoring and reporting of survey operational tasks. Monitoring of and compliance with technical specifications and standard and project-specific procedures is a key requirement. At all times, a high level of quality control must be exercised to ensure that all survey-related systems are configured and operated correctly to ensure that the aims and objectives of the survey are met and that the correct data for subsequent processing and charting is acquired Additionally the Senior Surveyor will regularly be expected to perform as deputy to the senior Survey project co-ordinator onboard, is responsible for the supervision of subordinate survey personnel (Surveyor, Associate Surveyor) and will fulfil an overall quality control role within the onboard survey department. This will often also include responsibility for the production, content, quality and presentation of the survey report. The Senior Surveyor has responsibility for the Health, Safety and welfare of himself/herself and others. Main duties include but are not limited to: Comprehensive review and understanding of project procedures and survey and inspection requirements. Briefing of colleagues and junior personnel as necessary Overall responsible for the performance and quality control of all vessel and ROV survey sensors and positioning systems. To ensure that all systems have been configured, calibrated and validated such that the objectives and specifications of the project are achieved as described within the Company's standard and project-specific procedures. Make all the necessary survey-specific decisions and control all survey operations to satisfactorily achieve the project objectives. Deputise for the Survey Project Co-ordinator to co-ordinate operations, particularly during night shifts. Compile all project reporting and quality control documentation in accordance with Subsea 7 reporting and quality control procedures. Must be fully knowledgeable with Company data processing software systems. Carry out general operations team duties as required. Must be knowledgeable of the Subsea 7 safety management system and operating standards. Liaison with client and bridge personnel. Essential: As per requirements of IMCA C001 Competence Guideline & Competence Tables.
